Although Hurst is surrounded by lovely countryside, farms, forests and fields, we have new rules to stop children going across the road during their free-time. This summer House Managers will be patrolling the campus to ensure that all children are safe, especially those that have chosen to have free-time. Children aged 13 years and older are allowed free-time 1 session per day, though they will be registered beforehand.

We hope that all staff, agents, group leaders and parents are happy with these rules and will help us pass on the information to the children, so they can enjoy a safe stay with us.

There are also 2 safer road crossing places where children can feel sure that cars will slow down as they drive through the college areas. Children going to Martlet House and across to the dance studio and climbing wall should use these points.

On the second day of each week, students are taken on a walking tour, where our Activity Leaders show these safer crossing points. All students receive a map too, and should pay attention to this.

This year we are very proud to have our rules and welcome sheet translated into 9 languages (Chinese traditional and simplified, Japanese, Russian, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Arabic). We truly believe this will establish a good rapport between all students and staff because they all know what is expected.

We wish all our enrolled students a great, safe, fun summer.
